What materials are used to make your products?
All Bookie products are made using high quality bookbinding materials, such as buchram, book making twine and book glue. When possible, every effort is made to utilize recycled and/or materials sourced from socially responsible companies or those utilizing fair trade practices. Our books are a labor of love and each is made individually by hand. Each jewelry component is crafted using traditional binding methods and completed with care to give it that personal touch.
How do I care for my pieces?
Jewellery is meant to withstand time. But they do require care to keep their original brilliance. With the following tips, your jewellery will stay good as gold for as long as possible.
The jewellery box is the best place to keep your little Bookies. Jewelry should be stored away from direct sunlight and humidity. The little books can withstand some moist weather but it’s best to not wear in pouring rain. And if the little pages open up too much, just tie a rubber band around them overnight and they will stay neatly shut!
Can I place a customized order?
If you wish to order a custom-made piece, please contact me via the contact page or by email to bookiekirjat@gmail.com.
Custom-made pieces can take between a week to a month to complete. This completely depends on the design, the piece and your placement in the queue.
A 50% deposit is required for a custom-made piece.
How will my order ship?
All orders are shipped within 1-2 business days. We pack each item carefully, the jewellery items in a jewellery box and the books safely to avoid damage during transport. We aim to use as much recycled packaging material in our shipments as possible, so that’s why you might find different coloured silk paper in each of your Bookie orders!
Our primary postage method is Postnord, connecting to your local post office branch. The standard delivery method does not include tracking. If you wish to use a different service and require a tracking service, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
What are my payment options?
In our webshop you can pay securely via Stripe using all major credit cards and Apple Pay. We also offer PayPal and Venmo as payment methods. We apply Euro as the payment currency and your bank or credit card will determine the exchange rate.
Do you accept returns?
I stand 100% behind my work. If there is any problem resulting from craftsmanship, simply return it to me and I will make it right. Your only cost is shipping to me, and I will cover the shipping back to you! I do not give a refund on custom-made work.
How long will it take to get my order?
Within the EU we can promise delivery within 3-5 working days and the UK, US and the rest of the world within 14 days. This will always depend on the postal service and seasonal variation (note: Christmas time may delay deliveries so please place your order well in advance).
If you wish for us to send your order via UPS, Schenker or DHL courier services, please contact us directly.
I'm having trouble placing my order online. What should I do?
